Netmore Group, a leading network operator for Massive IoT, announced the acquisition of Actility, a Paris-based pioneer in low-power wide-area network (LPWAN) solutions, along with its subsidiary Abeeway, a leader in ultra-low-power multi-technology geolocation. This strategic transaction strengthens Netmore’s leadership across utilities, buildings, and smart cities while expanding its reach into enterprise, industrial, asset tracking, and operator markets.

Actility, one of the original authors of the LoRaWAN specification and a founding member of the LoRa Alliance, brings thousands of LPWAN project deployments in over 100 countries, partnerships with more than 50 LoRaWAN network operators, and a customer base including tier-1 operators and global utility and manufacturing leaders. The combined entity now manages over 14 million contracted IoT devices.

Ove Anebygd, CEO of Netmore Group, stated: “By combining Actility’s multi-technology mediation capabilities with our carrier-grade network expertise, we are creating a powerhouse for scalable and reliable IoT connectivity solutions. We are thrilled to welcome the Actility team and anticipate significant advantages from their deep expertise and industry insights.”

Olivier Hersent, CEO of Actility, added: “Joining Netmore is a transformative step for our customers and the market. Together, we will accelerate IoT adoption across industries and make LoRaWAN the default infrastructure for massive IoT.”

The acquisition builds on Actility’s decade-long partnership with Orange, one of Europe’s largest telecom operators, ensuring continued innovation across enterprise and public sector applications. Orange emphasized that the consolidation strengthens the European IoT ecosystem and supports ongoing smart-territory and enterprise IoT solutions.

The combined portfolio enhances deployment flexibility, enabling faster rollouts of high-density meter and low-cost sensor projects, improved total cost of ownership, and reliable connectivity in challenging environments. Key additions include on-premise LPWAN infrastructure for regulated environments, DLMS over LoRaWAN for efficient smart metering, autonomous gateways with direct BACnet/Modbus connectivity for building management, LoRaWAN Relay for expanded reach, and the ThingPark Exchange roaming hub for seamless private and public network integration.

The acquisition also unites Netmore and Actility’s partner ecosystems, creating a global platform for end-to-end IoT solutions and fostering innovation across network, channel, and solution provider networks.
