The antitrust lawsuit, originally filed last year, alleged that Apple engaged in anti-competitive practices to monopolize markets for smartphones and generative AI chatbots. The suit specifically targeted Apple’s exclusive integration of ChatGPT into its Apple Intelligence features across iPhones and other devices, claiming the arrangement illegally shut out competing artificial intelligence developers.
Despite withdrawing claims against Apple, X Corp and SpaceXAI confirmed they will continue to pursue their lawsuit against ChatGPT maker OpenAI. The legal action against OpenAI remains active as Musk’s entities contend that the AI startup engaged in unlawful market practices.
