Porsche has officially agreed to sell its management and IT consultancy, MHP, to global technology services leader Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). This major transaction marks a pivotal milestone in Porsche’s overarching “Sportwagenschmiede 35” strategy, which seeks to sharpen the sports car manufacturer’s strategic focus by concentrating firmly on its core automotive operations.
While Porsche transfers full ownership of MHP to TCS, the transaction opens the door to a broader strategic collaboration between all three organizations. By combining Porsche’s deep automotive expertise with TCS’s vast capabilities in technology and engineering, the companies intend to create a powerful partnership focused on digital solutions and artificial intelligence. The primary goal of this alliance is to accelerate the development, scaling, and integration of AI applications across Porsche’s value chain, boosting efficiency and competitiveness in an increasingly software-driven mobility landscape.
For MHP, joining TCS—a key entity within the global Tata Group operating in 55 countries—represents a significant opportunity for expanded innovation and international growth. Founded over 30 years ago and headquartered in Ludwigsburg, Germany, MHP employs more than 4,500 people worldwide and specializes in complex strategy and IT transformations across sectors such as automotive, aerospace, manufacturing, and energy. Under the terms of the agreement, MHP will retain its brand identity and continue to operate as an independent consultancy under its existing name.
Crucially, the change in ownership will not end the deep relationship between Porsche and its long-standing consultancy arm. MHP will remain an important strategic partner for the sports car maker, actively driving the ongoing digitalization and transformation of various business units. Leaders from both Porsche and TCS highlighted that the synergy between TCS’s scale and MHP’s domain knowledge will help industrialize AI solutions, shaping the future of intelligent, software-defined mobility experiences.
The complete acquisition of MHP by TCS remains subject to standard regulatory and competition law approvals, with finalization expected in the coming months.
