The Romanian Competition Council is examining the planned acquisition through which Electro Alfa Servicii Inginerie S.R.L. intends to take over SPIACT Craiova S.A., R&D Enginery 4.0 S.R.L., and Longreen Prod S.R.L.
Electro Alfa Servicii Inginerie S.R.L., part of the Electroalfa Group, provides a broad range of electrical and mechanical design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and maintenance services. The Electroalfa Group is also active in the production of electrical distribution equipment for energy systems, including low-voltage distribution panels, medium-voltage switchgear, and compact medium-/low-voltage transformer substations.
The three target companies operate in interconnected segments of the railway infrastructure market. SPIACT Craiova S.A. is a specialised manufacturer of equipment and systems used in railway infrastructure, with a focus on interlocking, remote-control, and monitoring solutions for railway traffic. R&D Enginery 4.0 S.R.L. carries out mechanical processing for components used in railway switches and level-crossing barriers. Longreen Prod S.R.L. is mainly active in performing electrical installation works within the railway sector.
Under the provisions of Competition Law No. 21/1996, the transaction must be authorised by the Competition Council. The authority will assess the acquisition to determine its compatibility with normal competitive conditions and will issue a decision within the deadlines established by law.
