The Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic (PMÚ) has opened administrative proceedings to assess a new concentration in the industrial machinery sector. On 23 October 2025, the authority began reviewing the proposed acquisition of exclusive control by Toyota Fudosan Co., Ltd. (Nagoya, Japan) over Toyota Industries Corporation (Aichi, Japan). The transaction concerns activities that indirectly extend to the Slovak Republic.
According to the PMÚ, the concentration relates to the production and distribution of machined metal parts, specifically within the wholesale of machinery for the textile industry and of sewing and knitting machines (G.46.64) and the wholesale of other machinery and equipment (G.46.69).
As part of the standard merger review process, the PMÚ has invited third parties—both natural and legal persons—to submit comments, objections, or relevant information regarding the notified concentration. The authority has requested that any such submissions be provided as soon as possible, preferably within one week of the publication of this notice, to ensure that they can be taken into account during the first phase of the assessment process.
The case marks another example of the PMÚ’s ongoing scrutiny of concentrations in industrial and manufacturing sectors with cross-border implications, particularly those involving large international corporate groups.
