The Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic (PMÚ) has imposed a €70,000 fine on SINOP ALFA, s.r.o. for failing to cooperate during an unannounced inspection conducted earlier this year.
According to the PMÚ’s decision issued on 27 October 2025, the company refused to provide access to a work mobile phone during an on-site inspection carried out on 10 June 2025 at its premises. The inspection formed part of an ongoing investigation into potential anticompetitive conduct in the air-conditioning, refrigeration, and heat pump services sector.
The authority stated that the device was used for business purposes and could have contained information relevant to the investigation. By declining to hand it over, the company breached its statutory duty to cooperate fully with the competition authority and impeded the effectiveness of the inspection.
The fine — representing roughly 1% of the firm’s turnover from the previous financial year — underscores the PMÚ’s strict stance on procedural compliance during dawn raids. The decision is not yet final, and SINOP ALFA retains the right to appeal.
