Firecell & Accelleran: A European Merger for Sovereign Industrial 5G

2 Min Read

Firecell and Accelleran announced a strategic merger to deliver a unified, industrial-grade sovereign private 5G solution. This consolidation creates a Pan-European leader serving the connectivity needs of industrial autonomy, defense, and critical infrastructure.

The merger is backed by a €7.9 million investment round led by Matterwave Ventures, BPI France, Qbic, and Cogito Capital Partners. Operating under the Firecell brand and led by CEO Claude Seyrat, the entity is doubling its footprint across France, Belgium, the UK, Germany, and Poland.

Overcoming the Integration Barrier

As industries shift to autonomous operations using robots and drones, deterministic connectivity is essential. Traditionally, private 5G has been fragmented, requiring system integrators to patch together components from disparate vendors.

The Firecell platform solves this by offering a pre-integrated, single-stack solution. By merging Firecell’s core network with Accelleran’s programmable RAN and AI, the company provides a hardware-agnostic offering deployable in weeks, allowing partners to focus on ROI rather than technical integration.

Strategic Capabilities and Sovereign Security

The platform is engineered for mission-critical environments like ports and factories. Key features include global spectrum versatility and sub-millisecond latency supporting thousands of IoT devices. It also utilizes AI for real-time optimization of capacity and energy via programmable controllers.

Crucially, the 100% European-developed software ensures data autonomy, meeting the strict requirements of defense and national infrastructure projects.

Market Positioning and Future Outlook

As a sovereign European alternative to global incumbents, Firecell adopts a “system integrator-first” model. Partners can procure individual components or the full stack. The solution also empowers end-users with operational independence, allowing for local tuning without vendor intervention.

The unified platform will officially launch at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, March 2–5, 2026. The transaction is expected to conclude by the end of Q1 2026, marking a major step toward a more integrated European 5G ecosystem.
